Travel systems consist of a stroller and infant car seat combination. A travel system is a good stroller option for parents who are in and out of the car often because you can easily move a sleeping baby from car seat to stroller and back with ease.

A travel system comes complete with three components a rear facing infant car seat, a stay in car seat base as well as a toddler stroller. Travel systems also typically include several extra features such as storage compartments, canopies, trays and parent cup holders. Since these systems offer just about everything you need to travel with an infant, they are a good choice for parents who only plan to purchase one stroller.

Although an infant car seat and a stroller that will work together can be purchased separately, many parents choose to buy a travel system to ensure that the car seat and stroller are compatible and because they want to have a coordinated look.

While travel systems generally include highly rated infant car seats, the stroller portion of the systems usually leave much to be desired. Travel systems also tend to be heavier and bulkier than other strollers that accommodate newborns.
